Chief Technology Officer

We seek a highly skilled and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who is passionate about development and innovation. This role will initially involve hands-on development and gradually transition into a managerial position as the company and team grow. The ideal candidate will have development expertise, a strong background in data and analytics, and experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases. As our CTO, you will play a key role in shaping our technology landscape and ensuring our platform remains at the forefront of the hospitality industry.

Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Responsibilities

Hands-On Development:
- Lead the development of our core platform using Go or other development languages
- Optimize and manage our PostgreSQL database.
- Implement scalable and efficient code, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Technology Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to keep our platform innovative and competitive.
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their integration into our platform.
Team Leadership & Growth:
- Initially lead and mentor a small development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development.
- As the company grows, gradually transition into a more managerial role, overseeing a larger development team.
- Establish and maintain software development standards, processes, and best practices.
Data & Analytics:
- Leverage solid data and analytics expertise to drive platform enhancements.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
- Utilize data insights to inform technology and business strategies.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the overall business strategy.
- Communicate technology strategy to partners, investors, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to support business development efforts.
- Ensure the customer experience is central to all development efforts, focusing on usability, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in software development with languages like Go, Java, Python, or C#
Strong background in data and analytics, with experience managing PostgreSQL or other databases like MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
Proven experience in a leadership role within a tech startup or similar environment.
Deep knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a customer-centric mindset.
Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Proven ability to foster a positive and innovative team culture.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the hospitality industry or relevant technology fields.
Previous experience in a CTO or similar leadership role.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
